3D Rendering Process
This is a step-by-step breakdown of how Kado3D’s 3D rendering process works, from initial brief through to final delivery, covering file requirements, revision rounds, and typical turnaround times for each stage.
Our 5-step 3D rendering process
01. Brief & Project Materials
We start by gathering everything needed to scope the project accurately:
- Requested view
- CAD files (.dwg format)
- Colours and material samples
- Landscape style
- Time of day
- Desired timeline
- Final output needed (print, web, or signage etc.)
02. Camera Angle Selection
We provide a set of grayscale previews from multiple angles. You select the shots that best communicate the space. We’re happy to advise if you’re unsure what works best for marketing, approvals, or presentations.
03. Draft Render (Lighting & Composition)
Once angles are locked in, we produce a draft render with lighting, textures, and basic materials applied. This is your chance to review structure, mood, and overall feel before we finalise the details.
04. Client Feedback Round
We include 2 structured feedback rounds depending on the scope. You’ll be able to make notes on materials, finishes, lighting, landscaping, furnishings, and any other project-specific elements.
05. Final Delivery
Once everything has been approved, we begin rendering the images to high resolution. Each rendering typically takes four to eight hours to allow all 3D effects and lighting to process. Please allow enough time for us to deliver at the highest resolution.
If you have a deadline, tell us upfront, as mentioned in Step 1. Once finished, we’ll send the final images to you.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does the 3D rendering process take from start to finish?
Turnaround depends on project scope and how many feedback rounds are used, but each individual rendering typically takes four to eight hours of processing time once the brief, angles and materials are locked in. Tell us your deadline at the brief stage and we'll factor it into scheduling.
What files do I need to provide to get started?
CAD files in .dwg format, along with your requested view, colour and material samples, landscape style, time of day, and your desired timeline and final output format (print, web, or signage).
What happens if I want to change the camera angle after the draft stage?
The camera angle is locked in during Step 2, before lighting and materials are applied. Changing it after the draft stage may involve additional cost, since it effectively restarts that part of the process. Take the time to review the grayscale previews carefully before approving.
How many rounds of revisions are included?
We include two structured feedback rounds depending on the scope. You'll be able to make notes on materials, finishes, lighting, landscaping, furnishings, and any other project-specific elements.
Do I need to pay a deposit before work begins?
Usually a 50% commencement fee is required. The final 50% balance is due upon completion of the project.
Can Kado3D work from architectural drawings that aren't finalised?
Yes we regularly start from design-development drawings and refine the render in step with your evolving plans, which is common for early marketing material or investor presentations.
What format will I receive the final renders in?
High-resolution images are delivered in whichever output format you specified at the brief stage.
